Our mission at Calvary Baptist Church is “to glorify God by making disciples.” The Lord Jesus Christ gave us His Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20, and we take it seriously!

“Jesus came and spoke unto them saying, ‘All power [or authority] has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and teach [or make disciples of] all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.’” We strive to have the ministries at Calvary Baptist centered on our mission. We believe and share the Good News that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. We realize the necessity of spiritual growth in the believer’s life through the Word of God by the Holy Spirit. We seek the opportunity to serve others. We are disciples of Jesus Christ and our desire is to “make other disciples”.

There are a host of ministries at Calvary Baptist Church that give believer’s opportunity to fulfill our mission. Sunday school, children’s ministries, teen ministries, men and women’s ministries, and the discipleship ministry are some of the ways that we accomplish our mission.

We at Calvary Baptist church also recognize our duty to spread the Gospel outside of Burlington, Iowa. We support evangelism and discipleship ministries through church planting and the training of nationals in other parts of our country and our world. We are partners with missionaries in various places around the world.
